“Shouldn’t I be satisfied?”… you tell yourself.

And yet you’re not.

There’s something gnawing at you, deep underneath the surface of all the tasks.

There’s clearly more that you desire.

You know that what you want is bigger than simply picking your next revenue goal.

Maybe it’s more spaciousness that you want…?

Maybe it’s a deeper love…?

Maybe it’s a more meaningful life…?

Whatever it is that you truly want, the truth is… you’ll never find it if you keep distracting yourself with work… no matter how important that work is.

Work, for the Achiever, is the master manipulator.

It seduces you into avoidance by giving you the gifts of success.

When we accomplish something, we get that “hit” that says “woohoo, success!”

We get the appreciation, accolades, status, and financial remuneration.

All gifts. All great things.

But what if, while in pursuit of your next hit of success, work is keeping you from manifesting your deepest yearnings?

Work is the best form of distraction. The. Very. Best.

It’s required and therefore justifiable.
It proves that you’re needed.
It shows that you excel.
It demonstrates your brilliance.
And you’re really good at it.

Plus you get lots of kudos for it and the success that it often creates. What’s not to love about that status and those accolades?

Those were hard won, so we’re definitely not going to diminish them.

And yet…

There’s got to be a different way to live life… one that allows you to create an exquisite life of beauty, truth, love, meaning, and success… without having to prove yourself all the time.

It’s time to stop running and start receiving so much more from life.

Stay tuned for more on The Exquisite Life Plan.

Resentment: Is it you or them?

“Resentment is always a lack of personal responsibility.”

This is one of the reminder hacks I created for myself a long, long time ago.

And I still use it.

Whenever I feel resentment, I now know it always indicates a lack of personal responsibility. There is something that I did or didn’t do that I’m blaming someone else for.

A request I didn’t make.
A desire that I held back.
A communication that wasn’t clear.
A piece of information that I failed to share.
A doubt I had in another person.
A conditioned response I haven’t upleveled.
And the list goes on…

I am 100% ‘at cause’.

I never want it to be me but it is ALWAYS me. Without exception.

Once I get over myself and my need to be right and perfect, I’m so grateful for this recognition because it always leads me to FREEDOM.

When I put this together, it was like the sky opened up to me and one of the keys to the Universe dropped into my life.

I’ve been grateful ever since.

See…

When you are no longer willing to blame anyone else for your mood, your well-being, your experience, or your results…

When you choose to be personally responsible for ALL your outcomes (not just the good ones that you’re proud of, but ALL of them)…

Then you are back in the driver’s seat as the brilliant creator that you are.

You take back your creative agency and the control, if you will, over your life.

So if you’re blaming anyone for letting you down, if you’re resenting someone or something, ask yourself a better question…

What do I need to take responsibility for?

Goals vs Desires: A key difference when it comes to manifestation

I was talking to a long-time private client this morning about what is next for her.

It was a question I posed to her last week for her to contemplate.

Things are good, even great for her yet she’s ready for more. I can feel it. She can feel it. But she doesn’t YET know what it is.

She came back to me today with an awareness that she hasn’t really “done goals” well in her life. She just focuses on doing good work and things unfold for her.

We unpacked this and I shared how this was both in alignment with how the Universe works to deliver the manifestations you desire and how it’s also incomplete.

Let me explain…

The Law of Compensation says that in order for you to receive greater compensation you must become bigger than your present place… bigger than who you’re being right now.

This requires growth.

Growth requires that you become more.

When you have a standard of excellence for yourself in your work and you keep taking on more and doing it with excellence, you will naturally become more.

You will grow yourself to be a bigger container for the good that you desire.

(This is true whether we’re talking about income, ease, love, spaciousness, exuberant joy, sexual energy, or whatever you desire.)

This is how you become open to receiving more.

And yet there’s often an unconscious missing piece…

DESIRE.

True desire, not lack disguised as desire, is a cause set in motion.

When you claim a true desire it calls you forward into the growth that the Law of Compensation asks of you.

It’s connected to YOUR truth – not a should.

It’s connected to YOUR abundance – not scarcity.

It’s connected to YOUR purpose – not an obligation.

Now let’s compare this to goals.

I’m a big fan of them but only when you can hold them with an open heart and only when they start from a place of desire… not should, not scarcity, not obligation.

Most people when they set a goal that doesn’t meet the “desire criteria” immediately feel a certain amount of constriction.

This is actually a GOOD thing. It’s telling you that you’re off course, either slightly or to a large extent.

This is a forced goal, rather than a true desire.

In order to shift, it just takes tapping back into what you truly, really want.

What is that for you?

This is what we’ll be discussing in our Spirit of Wealth Retreat – what is rising up in you ready for a rebirth. #PhoenixRising

Most of us dream, then deny and never actually claim our rich life, that which we truly desire.

It seems unattainable or for someone else, not us. An editorial on the page of a magazine, a story we’ve read, a fantasy that calls us but is distant.

We fall into it for a moment, dreaming, then denying… We say to ourselves, at the level of murmur, almost imperceptibly… We are not that woman.

Or are we?

If the desire is felt, the supply is ready to appear.

This is the Truth. The Law. Your desires are ready to appear. You are that woman.

Yet most women limit their power and deny what they are worthy of receiving.

  • How do we unfold life in a different way than our conditioned past would hold us to?
  • How do we open the door of possibility long enough to make manifest what we truly want rather than what we’ve been limiting ourselves to?
  • How do we receive all the beauty and truth that is ours as women?

It’s about getting out of the way and surrendering to all that life is offering to you. But that’s harder than it sounds.

At every turn, there’s some kind of challenge that causes us to constrict and go back to the old way of pushing, striving, and forcing.

That’s the way that’s gotten us here. It’s the known. It’s trustable to some extent, but it doesn’t feel so good. You’ve got to admit that.

If you really want to tap into your power as a woman to live a truly wealthy life, you must step into the unknown and try a different way.

And this is where a level of honesty with yourself comes in: What is your more?

You’ve probably already achieved a level of success and status that you’re proud of.

You’re probably already making pretty good money, and that’s not the thing that’s at your core, driving you.

You’ve probably already got so much.

But there’s more, right?

There’s something missing, something more that you’re wanting.

When you think about this, do me a favor, and don’t go into that old pattern of defending your achievements or cutting yourself down by saying, what I’ve done or who I’m being is not enough

That used to be enough to motivate you.

But that’s scarcity and fear talking and you know you’re ready for a different way.

A way that’s gentler, kinder, and works with more grace.

A way that delivers without blowing out your nervous system, or leaving you lackluster and unmotivated.

A way that delights and includes all of you, even those little girl parts, the spirit that can’t be suppressed, that so wants to be fully realized in this world.

Yes?

Then it’s time to have a LIVED EXPERIENCE of a truly rich life.

I’m so excited for the unfolding. More soon.

One of the principles I’ve learned while manifesting a really magnificent business and life is that Desire is Causative.

It’s the cause or driver, the motivation for creating everything, including a truly expansive, extraordinary life.

This is the life that we know we were made for but (perhaps) haven’t yet lived to our fullest potential.

One thing that blocks people from their greatness and living extraordinary is not understanding what a TRUE desire is.

This was true for me at one point in my life.

I had to decondition myself and teach myself what a true desire really was.

I had to overcome all the conditioning that had me suppressing what I wanted in favor of pleasing others.

I found that I was putting my desires on hold in favor of other people’s needs, even if they didn’t actually express them.

I was so conditioned to fear letting other people down, that no one had to tell me to put them first anymore… it just became the voice in my head, driving me.

I lovingly call that voice “The Task Master.” (Do you have one too?)

Although I have great admiration for my will and work ethic, her shadow side is a suppression of my true wants and desires.

Sometimes to the point of ridiculousness… for example…

I remember one day when I was working on something for a client and REALLY had to go to the bathroom, but kept putting it off until I finished what I was working on.

Then it became just one more thing I had to do, then another and another.

Everything else, for everyone else, was urgent.

My own desires… even such a simple bodily desire as wanting to go to the bathroom took second place.

Now discipline is one thing, but I woke up at that moment realizing that this was the epitome of how I kept putting off my true desires for something else.

So much so that I didn’t even know what I truly wanted.

#FacePalm!!!

This was the path to being a good little worker bee but not the way to extraordinary success.

I had to recondition myself so I could actually tap into what I wanted.

This started with asking myself simple questions, Did I really want a glass of lemonade or a nap? Did I have a response for this initiative in my business or was it just what that “marketing guru” said was hot at the moment?

It started small, with a step-by-step deconditioning of jumping to meet other people’s needs (read: the demands of your business, your clients, your Team, your family, and yes, even your dog) in order to know what I truly wanted and follow that.

I had to tune into these small desires to really start to claim the bigger ones.

The result?

I was willing and able to claim a goal of making $1 million dollars in a year.

This was way beyond any desire I had previously held. But it was a TRUE DESIRE.

And I knew it to be true based on how it felt, which I had learned to tap into through all my deconditioning and practice.

I trusted it and could move forward with faith and belief.

Not only did that lead to a much larger income, but paved the way to so much more that I had no idea was possible for me but at some level wanted. Like…

A lit-up sex life, an epic love, stepping into my authority, claiming my beauty, and last but not least…

A life lived with PURPOSE.

More on that next week.

Until then, a really powerful couple of questions to ask yourself are: What do you really want? And what’s getting in your way?

Love and business–it isn’t greedy to want both

By Amira Alvarez I was just thinking about the flow of my day. I’m pretty darn grateful for how smooth and spacious things are of late.  Coffee in bed with my ember mug. (Do you have one??? They are AMAZING. I have 3. One for me, one for my man, and one because…

I was just thinking about the flow of my day. I’m pretty darn grateful for how smooth and spacious things are of late.

Coffee in bed with my ember mug. (Do you have one??? They are AMAZING. I have 3. One for me, one for my man, and one because I had to have it rose gold. So yes, that’s two for me. )

A short meeting with two brilliant women to discuss our upcoming rebrand. (So excited.)

An impromptu Ops call with Ariana aka “the rockstar glue that holds it all together” for us behind the scenes.

A call with my honey in the middle of day to discuss life, love, and the sexy topic of currency insurance. (Turns out you need this when you’re taking 10 women to Paris and Venice in the Fall of 2024, for an epic 7 day experience.*)

Plus a slice of GF chocolate cake while sitting outside to write this newsletter. (‘Cause I’m done with dieting. More on that in another post.)

But there can always be more spaciousness. More ease. More flow. More good.

This isn’t about not being appreciative or grateful.

This isn’t about being greedy.

This is how desire works. It’s always calling us into more of what’s required to unlock the next chapter of our lives.

For me, right now, this is about a real desire to spend more time with my man. Not just in the evenings but in the middle of the day, for long lunches, for epic trips.

I know in my core that this will not only be good for me and our relationship, but also for the business. Yet…

My business is so NOT set up for this right now. #Truth

I thought I had gotten out of the way and set it up to run without me. I go out of town and it runs smoothly. Love that and am totally grateful for that.

But when I’m back… I’m still too much of the bottleneck, with all the decisions running through me. Do you relate?

I’ve known this for awhile, but I didn’t have leverage over myself to change. I didn’t have something I wanted MORE than being needed in my business.

Now I do.

And the result of this bigger desire calling me forward?

A clear new vision for the business. <= See THIS needed to change so I could accommodate the desire of how I want to live and breathe with my man.

This is what I mean by ‘Desire is Causative’.

If you want what you want badly enough you will grow. You will make the changes that are required. But not before then.

I’ve been toying with a new business model for months, even years yet I didn’t have the true motivation to make that happen. Now I do.

I learned this a long time ago when I was first starting out on my journey. This is why DESIRE is the first step in The Manifestation Matrix. But it has to be a TRUE desire.

I’ve lived this process again and again. (It’s so much FUN!) Each time a true desire calls me forward into more, it moves me beyond the status quo of a good life and a good business. So if you’re asking ‘Is this all there is?” the answer is yes. Emphatically yes.

In my next post, I’ll share more about true desires and how I tapped into my true desire for an epic love.
